PDG Environmental Awarded Contracts Worth $10 Million
PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PDG Environmental, Inc. (OTC BB: PDGE - News), a leading provider of environmental remediation and specialty contracting services, today announced that it has recently been awarded contracts valued, in aggregate, at $10.2 million. Of the total, approximately $4.3 million of the awards represent reconstruction work in Florida, Georgia, California, and Texas, including a $1.5 million extension to an existing job order contract for a school district in Southern California. The remaining reconstruction projects cover commercial space, a medical complex, and a resort community damaged by fire or floods during the past few months, with all work expected to be complete by early 2008. The $1.5 million contract extension will run through the middle of next year.
In addition to these reconstruction projects, PDG Environmental has been awarded approximately $5.9 million in asbestos and lead abatement work covering buildings in Nevada, New York, and California. All contracts are anticipated to be completed by the middle of next year.
"PDG Environmental has seen a rise in the reconstruction business this summer, as indicated by awards covering demolition and restoration at a number of sites impacted by natural disasters," said John Regan, chairman and chief executive officer. "Our sales and marketing initiatives continue to provide us solid opportunities enabling us to maintain a near record backlog position even as the hurricane season has, thus far, proven to be a mild one."
